History has demonstrated that ZOA has always courageously led the way by being strategically clear in a clouded landscape, opting for truth instead of popularity. ZOA is not rightwing because truth is not a political position. Virtually all Jewish groups have been wrong about Oslo, Gaza, Palestinian statehood, Judea Samaria, Jerusalem, Abbas and Arafat. As former liberal Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren told the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations in 2025, “Morton Klein and ZOA were right about everything.”
Mort Klein is the National President of the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), the oldest pro-Israel group in the U.S., founded in 1897. He is widely regarded as one of the leading Jewish activists in the U.S. and was named one of the most important advocates of the last century.
